Toshiba is planning to build and launch Lytro Style camera sensor for tablets and smartphones in 2013
Mark
Toshiba is planning to build and launch a camera sensor for the tablets and smartphones which will trick on borrowing the Lytro tech and permits the users to focus on the areas in photos. This tech will also allow the users to put whole photo in the focus along with video shot on device. This can be used in everyday device by one upping the camera.
From the report issued by Asahi Shimbun about Toshiba’s latest mobile imaging project has shown following details. The camera will be designed in a way to employ 500,000 small lenses which will be layered on the top of the camera sensors. Each of these sensors will grab slightly different image to combine it with Toshiba’s software. This will result in an image which users can be able to tap for selecting focus. The working will be same as it is with the Lytro lightfiled technology and the good news is that, it will be available in small package to get fitted in your pocket.
Toshiba is working hard to evolve this tech and it hopes to link this new tech with tablets and smartphones OEMs, but do not expect that you will get it before the end of 2013. However, no one is sure that this tech whether allow the users for shifting perspective slightly, as it was available in the latest update of Lytro.
Recent project covered by us has indicated that Lytro style camera that allow manual focus can be employed for shooting digital photos, however Toshiba is aiming to provide this tech in more precise and easier form. Also this tech will be available in much cheaper rates for the individuals. Many believe that Lytro is a tech demo and is ultimately intending to get tech in wider range for the consumer devices like Toshiba laptops, tablets and smartphones.
