Is the Magical Spell of Apple casting misspelled iPhone ?

How do you spell iPhone ?

iPhone, ipone, or even ifone ?

This might sound a bit ridiculous, but people around the world spell iPhone mistakenly in a weird manner.  With the increasing magical spell of Apple’s iPhone, most people search the incorrect spell in search engine. Is that a coincidence or the replica market is taking on the leap? Read this featured post on the wrongly spelled iPhone and its influence on the overall market of the iPhone.

iPhone – The Spell of Brand

It is said that in the longer run a brand is nothing but a name. During the last decade, Apple started its products one after another. All the “I” conscious people of the world give a massive response towards iPod, iPhone. Now with iPad and iPhone 4 the Apple leaps forward in creating a magical spell for the world. With over 2 billion Google searches globally the Apple created its own market in web space and in the mind of the consumer. The iPhone series soon after its launch become the most popular brand in the Smartphone category. After iPhone 3G the Apple started getting a share from the overall mobile market. With its open source capability and profitable development side, the developers started pouring in and thousands of iPhone apps per day started appearing on the web. In order to accommodate all this attention the Apple enhanced their iOS. Soon with the consumers, developers and bloggers the buzz about the iPhone made an impact on the web scenario. This made around 15,000 apps reviewed by 5000 webs daily making an approximation of 10 millions posts about the iPhone per day, which not only serves the consumer appetite but also gives handsome revenue. Things are starting to get changed now with other Smartphone and miss-spellers (Replica) which have a harmful potential to rot Apple.

Misspelled Words

This can be one of my superstitious believe that people are searching for iPhone replicas with another name. There is a possibility that some dumb people might strike wrong keywords while searching but how is that possible that you see an iPhone with a label of iFone on it. In any case, it’s Steve’s Jobs to worry about that. Jokes apart but these misspelled words can really make a big impact on the overall branding of the iPhone.

Ifone

The iFone with 246,000 global monthly searches and 453,000 Google results available is found to be a replica of iPhone 3G. The first thing on Google was CECT P168C iFone Quadband PDA Phone (3.5-inch LCD + Dual SIM + 256MB TF + GSM + Unlocked).Amazingly Amazingly, around $100 this product is sucking the share of around 5-10 % in Apple’s economy. Hence trying to create a spell of its own.

Ipone

With 450,000 global monthly searches and 972,000 Google results this misspelled iPhone is amazingly associated as Apple iPone. There can be a slightest suspicion about China’s replica of the iPhone, but the Apple association with iPhone 3G is an unusual case. However, this misspelled iPhone is also taking a small chunk from Apple economy.

Iphne

It seems like a real typing error with 90,500 global Google searches and 118,000 results available this seems to be the sweetest mistake for an iPhone.

Impact of Replicas

The global market for replica has seriously taken huge chunks from other mobile manufacturers like Nokia. In the similar fashion, this nightmare is coming towards Apple iPhone. There are above 20 models of Apple iPod and iPhone replicas available in the market which are quite cheap and looks just like real stuff. These replicas can harm apple progress in the longer run. An average replica of technology comes in the market in approximate 3 to 6 months after the launch of original product.

To cut it short the spell of Apple iPhone especially for iPhone 4G and iPad may not produce an everlasting impact in the presence of such replicas. If Apple doesn’t take immediate action it might prove costly in the future.
