Heavy gaming is not a child’s play!
The gaming industry in the last two decades has taken over a big chunk from global entertainment. Apart from children, teenagers and even adults are becoming a game enthusiast. Significantly, when the world switched towards mobile communications, the mobile gaming makes its unique place in the handsets of consumers. Lately, this phenomenon hits iPhone and other Smartphone too.
The Smartphone gaming like on the iPhone does not deliver the optimum gaming experience. However, mobility is the major edge of Smartphone. According to a study, the mobile gaming industry is growing at a rapid rate and will cross the $1 billion mark by next year.
We can categorize mobile games into four major categories:
- Free and Popular
- Paid and Popular
- Free and non-popular
- Paid and non-popular
Mobile gamers often tend to play free or lite versions of the game before they buy the paid app. There are more than one-fourth mobile users who download paid games on their phones. The various genres and cross platform compatibly of games make an everlasting impression in the gamers mind. Only in this year, 64 million gamers spend about $793 million for mobile game downloads.
This becomes lucrative for advertisers due to which iAds by Apple came in view. iPhone along with other Smartphone serves the gaming community well in terms of mobility but lacks the actual gaming experience given by consoles. However, with iPhone 4 and iPad this isn’t any issue at all. The gaming industry significantly for paid apps is moving more towards feature based phones and iPhone 4 and iPad are in the lead for winning the mind and hearts of their gamers.
The Smartphone gaming industry is sure to get even smarter. However, gaming is just a small piece of a puzzle, whereas competition prevails in other apps too. The developers only have two options. Either they go for ‘paid and popular’ or ‘free and popular’ app. In any case the competition makes things smarter.
