Sales Record of iPhone and iPad broken by Apple’s Q1 2013
Glenn
iPhone and iPad sales records of 47.8M, 22.9M Units sold respectively were broken by Apple’s Q1 2013. The report of earnings for Q1 2013 was released by Apple in last year’s December. 47.8 million Units of iPhone were sold and this record was broken by Apple that sold Q1 in 2013. 22.9 million Units of iPad were sold and this record was also broken by Apple that sold Q1 in 2013. In First quarter the iPhone 5 was also available in this period. As the demand of iPhone 5 was weakened due to this Analysts suggested to cut down the production of iPhone 5.
Whereas, the sales of iPad in last quarter was 14 million and now it is recorded as 22.9 million this means it has increased with a good number. A 33 percent YOY increase was also recorded up from last year which was 15.4 million. Predictions were missed by iPad in last quarter. Though on various model specific numbers are not broken by Apple. We can assume that ipad mini played a vital role in the increase in the sale along with the holiday thorn as ipad mini was available for most of the time. An upgraded 4th generation ipad along with the lightning port was also introduced by the Apple.
As gross margin of iPad mini is very low as compared to the other products therefore ipad mini has further to build up for. The record of Apple for selling 47.8 million iPhones within the period of three months. As compared to the last quarter and year sale of iPhone it is has increased dramatically within the period of these three years. This clearly reveals the 23 percent of YOY growth. As iPod are concerned the introduction of several different iPod products has helped to improve the business for Apple. Apple is still trying hard to be at the top of the world.
