iPad launched. It’s iPhone’s new OS4.0, next!
Seems like Apple is raving against Android, and bashing it hard by flooding 3G platform with new releases. With iPad launched just last week, next in the queue is iPhone OS4.0. Well it might not be a proper release because Apple just announced an event for tomorrow calling it as, “Get a sneak peek into the future of iPhone OS”.
April 8th, Apple plans to unveil the new operating system for iPhone and iPad. This might just be like opening a corner for developers, helping them to understand how the future of development would shape up. Keeping up slightly with the tradition, Apple has always upgraded software in March and here it is in April this time; might because of iPad release.
With the news come the conspiracies. From the techno orifice I hear that iPhone Os 4.0 might just add multitasking; the most awaited and craved feature for iPhone. If this comes out to be true, for the user it would mean to run multiple applications at the same time. They would most probably be given an interface from where they can switch to any other application without exiting the current. I wonder what kind of effect will it have on the conservation power.
Another score for OS 4.0 might be the addition of video calling. At times, it really seems awkward to see a great techno device, running on a 3G network, and accessing data through Wi-Fi just doesn’t give you a video call. No matter how much I love the feature, I’m not very positive of seeing this upgrade in the new release, not until a new iPhone with front facing camera is released.
There is more to expect, but let’s just wait until tomorrow’s event to see what the big thing really looks like.
