From last few months I’ve been following stories regarding the arrival of a portable device that features as a sleek, light, silver-and-black tablet called an iPad. The reviews I read helped me discover this beautiful new touch-screen device from Apple; an exponential invention that will ultimately change portable computing and intensely dispute the dominance of laptops. Following iPhone traits, the tablet propels finger-driven, multi-touch interface rather than the out dated mouse-driven interface.
TimesOnline analyzed some hidden facts surrounding the multi-facet tablet, revealing that almost more than six million iPads will be sold within the upcoming year. It is also stated that the company’s share price rose to hit an all-time high lead in the niche. After few controversial months of propaganda, hearsay and secrecy, countless customers placed pre-orders that were computed on Saturday.
According to Times, iPad is one of the 9.6inch touch screen descendent that runs most of the 100,000-plus applications in games and entertainment categories. Apple has announced that pre-ordered iPads will not be delivered until April 12, indicating that demand is outstripping supply. Pre-sales figures have led several analysts to raise their estimates of overall sales.
Barclays Capital expects Apple to sell about 5 million iPads in 2010. Macquarie Research’s estimated figure is 4 million. The iPad will target the growing sub-$800 consumer laptop market, which currently totals to 30 million units in the US and 120 million globally. Analysts say that the iPad could generate as much as $4.6 billion (£3 million) in new revenue for Apple by 2011. And as the predictability will not stop and continue till the graph reaches the pinnacle with the end of the year. In the end I may not like to forget to mention Apple’s share record that hits a figure of $233.87 on the NASDAQ stock market and the stock has almost risen about 15% since the company held a media event to introduce the iPad in January.

Wow, would never imagine it. Really nice share. Thank you.
thanks for sharing this nice post
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
Thanks for sharing your thought with us.
