According to the recently released quarterly report of ChangeWave for the smartphone consumers, the demand has been tracked for the North Americans in terms of satisfaction with their handsets. The survey has gathered data on the planned purchases for the coming 90 days and indicated that sales of Samsung will be strong in early 2013. And this interest of consumers will hit the sales of Apple’s iPhone. Samsung Galaxy SII has made promising position in the market and consumers are eager to get this gigantic device in their hands. The interest for the consumers to buy iPhone in North America is shrunken from 71% previous quarter to 50%. Still this is historically good interest for the iPhone, according to ChangeWave. And this is expected that this shrunken demand will get to normal after the release of iPhone 5 all over the world. Typically, the demand for the Apple products only shot up with the release of new devices and later it comes to normal. But this was not the case with iPhone 4S as it has always enjoyed high demand and it is hoping that same story will remain for iPhone 5. Apple still is having stated exceed consumer demand than Samsung, yet Samsung has made big attainment in this survey.
ChangeWave added that Samsung Galaxy SIII was the most desirable handset of Samsung with having 69% demand, but when Galaxy Note 2 made its way from darkness, it capture the interest of 23% of Samsung consumers. Overall the interest shown by the consumers is for the phablets with 27% of consumers has shown their interest. Screen displays with 4 to 4.9 inches will rule the market with 52% of consumer interest, and consumers are warming up to get big screen mobile devices.
Natasha Lomas has shared in her interview in Sunday opinion piece that there are clear benefits associated with the larger screens, although they look incredibly unwieldy in hands. However, more and more consumers are trading off sizes with big screens and attaining phablets. And the same results have been encountered in the survey of ChangeWave.
