  • A couple of days back a story broke out about an American who saved lives using an iPhone app in the Haiti disaster. Don Wolley, used an iPhone medical app named Pocket First aid and CPR to assist people under the rubble in the disastrous situation in Port-au-Prince. As the story caught media coverage, not just the success of the app itself grew in popularity but the significance of medical apps grew on the whole.

    The App received such a boost from the story that it left behind big names like Shazam. The app climbed to top 50 paid apps on the app store.
